SSL Studio is a certificate checker in the DNS Studio suite. We respect your privacy and have designed the service to collect as little as possible.
Data We Collect
Information You Provide
When you use SSL Studio, you provide a domain name to check. That domain is:
- Sent to our checking service to open a TLS connection and read the certificate the server presents
- Not stored on our servers
- Not logged or retained after your result is returned
- Only used to perform the certificate check you requested
To perform a check we resolve the domain via a public DNS-over-HTTPS resolver and then connect to it on port 443. We do not connect to private, internal or reserved addresses, and we never follow redirects or request any page content — only the certificate is read.
Automatically Collected Information
Our hosting provider may process limited technical information to deliver the service and protect it from abuse:
- IP address (for security, rate limiting and abuse prevention)
- Browser type and version
- Request metadata such as timestamps
SSL Studio does not use analytics or advertising trackers. There are no third-party analytics scripts on this site.
How We Use Your Data
- Service Provision: to perform the SSL certificate checks you request
- Security: to detect and prevent abuse and protect the service’s availability
- Legal Compliance: to comply with applicable laws and regulations
Data Protection
- Encryption — the site is served over HTTPS, and checks are performed over TLS.
- No storage — domains you check are processed in real time and not retained.
- Minimal footprint — no analytics, no advertising, no cross-site tracking.
- Regular updates — the platform receives routine security updates.
Cookies and Local Storage
SSL Studio sets no tracking cookies. Your theme (light or dark) and result mode (Easy or Tech)
preferences are stored locally in your browser using localStorage, purely so the
site remembers your choices. This information never leaves your device.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third parties to operate the service:
- Hosting and CDN: for serving the site and running the certificate-checking function.
- Public DNS resolver: a DNS-over-HTTPS resolver is queried to resolve the domain you check to its address before connecting.
These providers have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
Your Rights
Because we do not store the domains you check or build profiles of visitors, there is little personal data to access or delete. You may still:
- Ask how the service handles data
- Clear your local preferences at any time via your browser settings
- Contact us with any privacy concern
